APTA KS & ASSET Current Concepts in the Rehabilitation of the Rotator Cuff Webinar

The American Physical Therapy Association - Kansas Chapter (APTA KS) and the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Therapists (ASSET) are pleased to present Current Concepts in the Rehabilitation of the Rotator Cuff by Robert Manske PT, MEd, SCS, ATC, CSCS and Brian Coote PT, MBA, SCS, CSCS.
This course will review the functional anatomy of the shoulder and common pathologies over the life span. The emphasis will be on the rehabilitation and post-operative management for rotator cuff pathology. The clinician will develop an understanding the forces, healing process and comorbidities associated rotator cuff rehabilitation. The ASSET consensus guidelines will be review so the clinician will understand the why of selected movements and exercise to progress the patient.
Objectives: Following this webinar participants should be able to:
- Explain the anatomy and biomechanics that underscore critical management of rotator cuff disorders.
- Design and justify appropriate rehabilitation programs for rotator cuff repairs.
- Recognize and evaluate common rotator cuff related injuries.
- Describe rotator cuff related pathology.
- Use a clinical decision – making process to establish appropriate interventions during treatment of a patient with a rotator cuff repair.
About The Speaker(s)
Brian Coote PT, MBA, SCS, CSCS
Brian is the Director of Rehabilitation, Health/Wellness Services and Orthopedic Service lines at Wooster Community Hospital. He received his Post Baccalaureate Degree in Physical Therapy from Cleveland State University and Master’s in Business from Dowling College in New York. He is an active member of the American Society of Elbow and Shoulder Specialist, American Physical Therapy Association Sports section and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is recognized by the APTA as a Sports Certified Specialist. In addition, Brian has taught Orthopedics at several Universities and presented nationally on topics related to the shoulder and elbow. Brian is a former collegiate hurdler, high school soccer coach and has represented the US at the World Triathlon Championships.
